Dr. Scott W. Smilen
Scott W. Smilen, MD, Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, NYU School of Medicine, is the Associate Director of the Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. He also serves as the Residency Program Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship training in Urogynecology at NYU Medical Center. He is an active member of the American Urogynecologic Society, the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Dr. Smilen has presented his research at various national and international conferences, published peer-reviewed work and written expert opinion for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in the area of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. He specializes in non-surgical and minimally invasive surgical approaches to the treatment of overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, vaginal tightening, labial contouring and pelvic organ prolapse.

Dr. Robert Porges
Dr. Robert Porges, Associate Vice Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is the Director of the Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. He has been recognized as one of the nation’s foremost reconstructive pelvic surgeons and specializes in the non-surgical and surgical treatments of pelvic organ prolapse, repair of injuries and fistulas of the birth canal, repair of congenital malformations of the reproductive tract, and surgical correction of urinary incontinence. He has been able to apply vaginal techniques to more than 50% of patients needing hysterectomies. He is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society and a Past President of the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons, the New York Obstetrical Society and the Bellevue Obstetrical and Gynecological Society.
